LOCATION
The test is given by Horn Purvis, LLC at 6701 Airline Drive, Metairie La. Suite C. You may be familiar with that location. It is in between Airline Skating Rink and Dot's Diner. Please park in the same parking lot that the DMV uses, however you need to enter through a different door!
Look for the bright yellow and orange signs that lead through the first door on your left (heres a photo of the sign you need to look for). The signs mention Horn Purvis, LLC. That's us! Please go to the last office at the end of the hall. (There is only three offices; A, B, and C. We are in C.)
WHY TEST WITH US?
- We test Rain or Shine
(DMV testing is halted if it has been raining)
- We test all day
(DMV testing is halted from 11am to 1pm daily!)
- We provide a rental car if you don't have a vehicle to test in!
DO YOU TEST MOTORCYCLES?
Yes we do! The test is held Monday through Friday from 8a.m. to 4p.m. You supply the motorcycle, we supply the orange cones.
You need to be able to perform five or six figure 8's without putting your foot down in addition to performing two up/down shifts. The test is approx. 15 minutes long. You must be at least 18 years old and have taken the written motorcycle test at the OMV. We charge $30.00 and test RAIN OR SHINE!

Is it "official" when I take the test with you?
Absolutely! We are an Authorized Service provider for the Louisiana Office of Motor Vehicles. Our license is posted on our office wall. We use their paperwork and issue their certificates.
How much does the test cost?
$30.00 (Cash, Debit, Credit Card)
Where is the test given?
We give the test at 6701 Airline Drive, Suite C, Metairie La. That is the location where the Office of Motor Vehicles is located. Just follow the bright yellow and orange signs to SUITE C.
How long will the test take?
Approx. 30 minutes or less.
Do I take the written test with you also?
No, the written test is given next door. We hope to be able to provide the written test in the near future.
Do I need proof of insurance on the automobile or motorcycle I use to take the test?
YES
Do I need a current registration and license plate on the automobile or motorcycle I use to take the test?
YES
Do I need a current safety sticker on the automobile or motorcycle I use to take the test?
YES
What if I don't have a vehicle to use for the test?
We can provide an automobile for you for a fee (no motorcycles for rent ,yet).
What's the fee to rent your automobile for the Road Test?
$50.00
What if I fail the test while using your automobile? Is there another fee to use the vehicle to retake the test?
Yes, but it drops to $25.00. Any retakes after that are given at the normal prices.
What if I fail the Road Test?
You can come back and take the test again for $5.00 Any retakes after that are given at the normal prices.
