38 Hour Drivers Education Class -WESTBANK                                   9:00am to 5:00pm  $450.00                                                                                                                                         

La. State law requires individuals 17 years old and younger to take a 38 hour drivers education course. Students will first complete the 30 hour portion of classroom training, followed by the required 8 hours of driving instruction (behind-the-wheel)*. Once the 38 hour drivers education course is completed, the student (upon passing) will receive a "Certificate of Completion". A WRITTEN TEST WILL BE GIVEN AT THE END OF THIS CLASS. THAT TEST (IF PASSED) WILL BE ACCEPTED BY THE OMV. NO OTHER WRITTEN TEST WILL NEED TO BE TAKEN AT THE OMV AFTER OUR TEST!    You must attend all four classes in the order they are given in order to graduate. These classes fill up quickly and there is a maximum number of spaces available!                                                                                                                                   

 
 
important STICKER
 
 
All students enrolled in a drivers education class must present a TIP to the enrolled drivers education provider.  You can only obtain a TIP from the local Office of Motor Vehicles.  In addition, the student must have the TIP in their possession when operating a motor vehicle during the behind the wheel portion of instruction and when accompanied by a licensed drivers education instructor or during the administration of a road skills test.
 
Upon completion of drivers education, the TIP will be surrendered to Office of Motor Vehicles (OMV) along with proof of completion of the drivers education course and any other necessary documents. There is no additional cost to convert from the TIP to a Learner’s Permit.
 
 
Proof of identification is required. All minors must present the following identification:
 
a.  An Original or State Certified Birth Certificate (no photocopies)
b. Verification of your Security Security Number is required
c.  High School Attendance Form is required-student must be at least in the 8th grade
d.  A custodial parent or legal guardian must sign the application.  The parent or legal guardian must present identification and the legal guardian must also present legal documentation verifying the guardianship.
